Work continued today. I am afraid I might be pushing Mom too hard. I try to get her to sit down as much as possible, but she doesn't like to sit if I am standing and I can't sort through the items sitting down. I'm trying to be aware of her needs, and we took more breaks today than yesterday or the day before. We will see how she does moving forward.
Today, we focused on cleaning off the kitchen counters, the dining room, a bit of the living room, and the closet under the stairs. I thought we had done pretty well sorting out Christmas (we had one "holiday" box full of decorations in the garage). Turns out, Mom had more Christmas decorations in the closet under the stairs. We are up to three Christmas totes now ... and your mom has a love affair with Santa. Every time you pull out a Santa picture or doll or statue, etc., Mom says something like, "Isn't he handsome!". :) I'm guessing this is not news to any of you, and I'm also guessing those Christmas totes will end up stored in our garage until she needs them.

 |
| Mom is pretty sure someone will be upset to see this here. She thinks it is beautiful but did not choose it as one of the blankets she takes with her. I hope whoever made this will not be too hurt or upset. |
 |
| This is a bit larger than a lap blanket ... very soft on one side, and it almost feels like softened leather on the other side. Heavy. |
ON A SHELF IN THE GARAGE
ALSO ...
OTHER THINGS ...
 |
| There are five more jars of honey. |
 |
| Mom and Dad haven't decided for sure about this desk. They are leaning toward not having a desk at all in their new place. However, if they take one, it will likely be this one. Nonetheless, this desk might also be available if someone needs/wants it. |
QUESTIONS ...
To the person/people who gave Mom these two bears (below) ... they are too big for her to take with her. She doesn't remember who gave them to her, but she wants to offer them back to you. If you do not want them, Laurie can use them in her classroom (or other classrooms) at Head Start so the bears will not be thrown away or given to DI. Either way, I need to know what to do with them, so please claim the bears and give me some direction of what you would like me to do with the bears.
Below is a picture of five baby dresses. Mom is pretty sure that at least four of them were blessing dresses for her girls. However, she doesn't know which one belongs to whom. Any ideas? Anyone want their blessing dress (or one of these dresses)? Until they are claimed or we figure out their origin, Laurie is going to keep these in her cedar chest. Please let either Laurie or me know if you have any idea about the stories of these dresses.
