As you all know, Mom and Dad are moving. I came down to help for the week, sorting through their things and packing up items to get their house ready to sell. We started with the garage today, and, with only one breakdown from Mom (maybe one and a half), Mom has identified the items she wants to keep. My plan is to take pictures of all of the things she is not keeping and to post those items on this blog. If you want the item, please let me know as soon as possible (within 24 hours would be best). You can email (dlmonty@gmail.com), text (ask Andy for my number), comment on the blog, or you can let Andy know. You will need to figure out how to get the item(s) to you, but ... this will help me know what I can put in a box to be donated or sold. As you can imagine, this is tough on Mom and Dad (and Scott), and I am doing my best to assure Mom as we go. She could use lots of love, though, to help her know all will be well. I'm also going to guess we will need to do this again when they move in. Mom is struggling to understand how small her new home will be, and Dad is encouraging her to take whatever she wants and that we can deal with it later. (If Mom says she wants it, I add it to the keep pile.) Also, please do not be offended if you gave them something that ends up in the going-away pile. I promise, Mom is doing her very best to remember who gave her what and to keep all of the items that she feels were gifted to her by one of you.
Now ... on to the pictures ...
| A set of 8 Christmas plates |
| This is a tree skirt (and a Santa hat ... you don't have to take both if you don't want them both. :) ) |
| Angels |
| She thought long and hard about these chickens. She kept two but decided she was okay parting with these three. |
| Same bag as pictured above. Just wanted you to be able to see the size of the bag. |
| There are three of the boy elf plates, two of the girl elf plates, and two McDonald's plates. All of these plates are plastic. |
| Mom would love if someone claimed these plates to be the plate left out for Santa. I claimed one but do not have space to claim these two. |
| We (Mom and I) decided that we will buy her the perfect small tree for her new place at Christmas time. As such, she is parting with both (this one and the one below) of these trees. |
| She is still thinking about this one. It is pretty big, and I don't believe there will be room for it in her new place. If someone would like to claim this, I believe it might ease Mom's fear about letting it go. |
| This was a hard decision for Mom. However, she has a painting of Santa that she loves more, so she chose to keep the painting instead. |
| A punch set ... I didn't count the cups. 12 maybe? |
| I believe this might have only been used at my and Andy's wedding reception. (It's a chocolate fountain.) |
| There are two bread machines and three waffle irons. The brown things are stoneware (from Pampered Chef, I believe). The red and green things, top middle, are plastic bowls. |
| The box is a pressure canner/cooker. It's big, and it's metal. |
| Lots of pans ... old and newer. Top shelf, right side is apparently the kettle that was kept on the wood stove in one of the houses in Cheyenne. |
| Lots of glass stuff ... mason jars, jugs, mugs, bottles, etc. |
| Pretty self explanatory ... :) |
